The UFC has the weigh ins 24+ hours before the fight. In Jon Jones last fight he said he weighed 226 when he stepped into the ring to fight at 205! Mirko Crocop only weighed 220 when he fought Cheick Kongo at heavyweight, and that was while wearing shorts AND sweatpants!

Anderson cuts from 220 to 185
Alves from 200+ to 170
Jones 226 to 205

Is this a better showcase for fighting or does it rely to heavily on who can cut the most weight? It seems needless, except that it can build up anticipation for the fights, act as a draw, and increase revenue.

I would be interested in seeing fighters at their natural weight class so we could see their skill at fighting rather than their ability to lose large amounts of water weight quickly. After they dehydrate themselves they begin ingesting fluids, soaking in water, and getting IV's jabbed into their veins to rehydrate themselves. Is this about fighting?

Fedor fights at heavyweight at about the same weight as Anderson Silva fights at Middleweight because of this weight cutting!

I mean, The first record of African slavery in Colonial America was made in 1619 with British pirate ship capturing 20 Angolan slaves in a battle with a Portuguese ship bound for Veracruz, Mexico. The Angolans were from the kingdoms of Ndongo and Kongo, and spoke languages of the Bantu group. With this spoken language, we can trace the ancestry of these enslaved people possibly back to Africa. In Mixed Martial Art's..Their are hundreds of hundreds of different styles that go in to martial arts category, anyday a martial artist is typically a better trained fighter..Most MMA fighters have black belts in other various forms, for example chuck liddell is a black belt in Kenpo Karate and has been doing kickboxing forever, he also has a 18, 2 record in kickboxing..Frank Mir is a black belt in Kenpo..Kenpo is a extremely hybrid Violent martial arts, that emphiazes on throat, strikes, leverage, and the opponents body against them, the fact is leg kicks, groin shots and throat strikes and eye gouges would end a fight before a punch would..espically in a no holds fight, or a vale tudo..CHUCK Liddell is a perfect example, he can destroy like 99% of people on earth as most pro fighters, chuck could also be more deadly with no legal rules and not in the octogan..CHUCK in pride would of wrecked everyone but fedor and cro cop..his fight against Wanderlei showed, that countering, and throwing kicks and that Straight punches and left crosses, can defeat Wanderlei's wild striking and technical clinch..Chuck landed more because the way he threw and he would hit wanderlei before wanderlei could get his wild hooks on chucks head..

The fact is He also had 1 of the hardest title defenses, Defending your title against a prime couture and tito and babalu isnt easy..Tito ortiz defened his title against, elvis S, and old ken shamrock, and yuki kondo who was never good..tito's hardest defense was against evan tanner who he slammed, so in a way it proved evan was only a true beast in his earlier days not in the UFC..

you can also say that and prove that Chuck sense he like a lot of Lightheavy weight fighters, walk around at 220 or so the actual fight day, they put on typically 15 after weight in..Chuck could easily go to heavyweight and drop guys like ben rothewell or kongo, up until 2008 the heavyweight divsion in the UFC has always sucked..and knows its getting better, the only Heavyweights that could defeat chuck are lesnar cause's he's to good wrestling and to big, and carwin better striking with hands, and to hard to takedown nor can you kick him without getting takendown, and Fedor cause he kills everyone..

nor has he had a fight go 4 minutes into the first round
he has won his last 5 fights by tko/and ko all brutally beating people down

6..he is 12 and 0 and has won 7 fights by knockout and 5 fights by submission
2x submission wins by gulliotne choke another 2x by rear naked choke
and the last 1 by Submission to Strikes

7..he Easily beat frank mir
lesnar got beat by frank the first time by submission and the 2nd time frank was out striking him and rocked brock with a knee..but lesnar still won the 2nd time with ease sort of

8.. When Carwin fought mir..Mir had just beaten kongo by submission he had knocked kongo down than put him to sleep.

9..Shane Carwin has fought at least 1 time in the last year
he fought a like 2 months ago
and Lesnar has not fought in almost 1 year..not to mention lesnar has not been in shape or training the whole time

he is a 2x divison 2 Champion

I posted a question or two about this awhile back. Kongo the pit bull and Harley the Australian shepherd were stolen from a Humane society. A few days later, Harley was found in a ditch where he had been dumped after being shot in the head. They still couldn't find Kongo. A couple of weeks later there were sightings, and now the sad little story has a bit of a happy ending. :-)

Okay so he is gonna fight Brock Lesnar. However like 1 or 2 weeks before the fight, Lesnar has to pull out of the fight due to his sickness (hope you get well soon Brock, I love to watch you fight). So yeah Carwin is waiting around for Lesnar to get better and then at UFC 107, Frank Mir beats Cheick Kongo. So now he has to fight Frank Mir for the right to face Brock Lesnar (pending he gets better), I mean don't get me wrong I love Frank Mir he is one of my favorite fighters, but still. Do you agree with me

honestly I feel GSP will easily defeate Dan Hardy (by decision after a bunch of tackling and holding) but Frank Mir's 30-45 second win over Chieck Kongo by single punch and Choke makes Shane Carwin (his opponent) the bigger underdog. What do you guys think?

John Jones shattered Vera's face with an elbow, now everyone is screaming elbow's should be banned.

Before that, Anderson Silva spent 5 round kicking out Lietes' knees, and everyone screamed to ban kicks to the knee.

Before that, Kongo kneed CroCop in the pills, and everyone screamed to ban knees to the lower body.

Why is it that MMA fans seem to fail to realize that MMA is a contact sport, and injuries can and will happen?

Look how people have shattered their legs from getting taken down, should we ban take-downs now?

I'm going for GSP and Frank Mir, my favorite fighter in the UFC.
Frank is a whole new fighter after his loss to brock, he's a monster now, has a new lifting coach, and fucked up kongo.

I think Hardy talks too much.. it would be cool to see him get knocked out.

He talks trash against Dan Henderson, result? He gets knocked out brutally and gets his a$$ handed to him.

He talks trash against Wanderlei Silva, result? He gets beaten and can't back any of it up.

He does good against average to below average fighters but in the end, he is simply not the elite. What annoys me the most is his Obese trainer, the same chunky brit who said Cheick Kongo would beat Frank Mir, I just hope someone knocks the fat chicken out.

Also his teeth, my god, just nasty.

Whats wrong with Fedor fans?

Fedor hasn't fought any top 10 competition besides Brett Rogers in a few years. Why Fedor fans keep saying he's "too good" for the UFC Heavyweight division, yet right now hes in Strikeforce scheduled to fight Fabricio Werdum? They say the UFC HW Division stinks, well look at Strikeforce. Strikeforce has Overeem and Rogers as top HW competition. The only excuse they have for him not joining UFC is because hes "too good" for the division and that he would dominate everyone in it. So I guess they find Strikeforces HW Division awesome since they aren't complaining about him signing with them.

I don't consider Fedor the best Heavyweight in the world since the last 3 decent guys he fought were Tim Sylvia (out of prime), Arlovski (out of prime) and Brett Rogers. 2 out of the 3 are past their prime, and now hes facing Fabricio Werdum which is another easy win for Fedor.

If hes the #1 Heavyweight in the world, then why isn't he fighting top 10 competiton! Arlovski and Sylvia arent top 10 material. Fabricio Werdum is considerd rank 10 on some sites, and other sites say hes NOT top 10. If hes #1 he should be fighting top 5 competition, he shouldn't even be near the lower top 10 fighters. If the other top 5 competition is in the UFC, then why doesn't he go join UFC. Actually, about 70 or 80 percent of the top 10 HW are fighting in the UFC, so I don't see how the UFC Heavyweight Division is so bad. They have more then enough fighters that are atleast top 10 material for Fedor.

Compare UFC HW Division to Strikeforce HW Division

UFC: Lesnar, Mir, Nog, Carwin, Velasquez, Dos Santos, Gonzaga, Kongo

Strikeforce: Rogers, Overeem, Werdum, Sapp(ovverated fat guy), Lashley(good but still too new to the MMA world), and Herschel Walker(old man with a 1-0 record)

colonization brought nothing good to the world. European "progess" was a black mark on human history.

(I'm Russian American, btw; all my descendants were slaves, and even in the 1860's, expansion into siberia and alaska was VERY unpopular amongst my ancestors, the krepostnoi krestyanin; so at least my conscious is clean :P)
and much of Europe was a hell hole before they stole the secrets of the Ayyubid Caliphate and Ottoman empires.
